Our Mission
Urban Tails Animal Rescue is a foster based, animal rescue charity that is dedicated to improving the lives of animals in need, one adoption at a time. By advocating for their welfare and strengthening the connection between people and pets, we cultivate a community of passionate and responsible pet ownership.
Urban Tails rescues both dogs and cats of all ages, breeds and sizes, including special needs, senior and palliative care cases in the Toronto, Canada area.
We hope to see a world where every animal is always valued, protected, and cherished. By providing vital support and accessible resources to the community, we strive to change the way people engage in animal welfare and advocacy.
Through our dedicated network of foster families and volunteers, we cultivate genuine companionship and lifelong commitment.
Adoption Policy
Adopting an animal and saving a life is one of the most rewarding feelings in the world, however, it is a huge commitment. If you see a dog or cat in our rescue’s care that just speaks to you, here’s how the process will go down.
Step 1. Complete our ADOPTION APPLICATION.
Step 2. We will check out your references and set up a call with you to discuss the adoption of the animal you’ve applied for.
Step 3. The adoption screener or case manager will contact the foster parent to schedule a meet and greet. The rescue requires that all family members of the potential adopter (including family dogs) must be present for the meet and greet.Â
Step 4. Once the adoption is approved by the rescue, the adopter pays the adoption fees and makes a spay/neuter appointment, if necessary.Â
