Urban Tails Animal Rescue is a registered Canadian Charity organization dedicated to animal welfare advocacy and finding forever homes for animals in need.
We are 100% volunteer run and foster based, meaning we have no physical shelter location and all animals are living it up in the care of loving foster homes. We rescue both dogs and cats of all ages, breeds and sizes. We don’t discriminate, a life in need of saving is a life in need of saving.
Our vision is to continuously promote animal welfare advocacy, to educate the public about animal overpopulation and the importance of spay & neuter, to save every life we can within our means and to assist the public in re-homing their pets in an effort to reduce shelter populations and overcrowding.
Adopting an animal and saving a life is one of the most rewarding feelings in the world, however, it is a huge commitment. If you see a dog or cat in our rescue’s care that just speaks to you, here’s how the process will go down.
Step 1. Complete our ADOPTION APPLICATION.
Step 2. We will check out your references and set up a call with you to discuss the adoption of the animal you’ve applied for.
Step 3. The adoption screener or case manager will contact the foster parent to schedule a meet and greet. The rescue requires that all family members of the potential adopter (including family dogs) must be present for the meet and greet.
Step 4. Once the adoption is approved by the rescue, the adopter pays the adoption fees and makes a spay/neuter appointment, if necessary.
