Meet TINY TIM

Tiny Tim initially came to Longmeadow as a weanling in 2014, unhandled and unsure of Longmeadow staff. We knew the little sorrel Quarter Horse had potential, but we also knew he had a long way to go. From the start, Tiny Tim was given consistent handling and thorough groundwork training. His calm demeanor and eagerness to learn made him a standout, and he quickly became a favorite among those who participate in our groundwork class, often being used as a reliable partner. As Tiny Tim matured, he was started under saddle, but unfortunately, he developed a bucking issue. We took the necessary steps and had both a vet and chiropractor assess him, but they could not find any pain-related issues. Safety for both horse and rider was our biggest concern and highest priority, so Tiny Tim was adopted in 2019 as a pasture companion. Recently, Tiny Tim was returned due to no fault of his own. He has settled back into life at the Ranch and is ready to find his new forever home. Our trainer believes that enough time has passed for Tiny Tim to be restarted under saddle. Despite previous challenges, this geldings foundation of groundwork is solid, and he was able to walk, trot, and canter in the arena and on short rides around the ranch before the bucking started. This horse will require an advanced rider if intended for riding, and a professional restart is necessary to address his previous bucking issues. However, if adopted as a pasture pet again, Tiny Tim would be suited for an intermediate handler. It should be noted that Tiny Tim is not good for needles. His adopter must have the vet and necessary resources to safely keep up with his medical care, including but not limited to vaccinations, teeth floats, and annual vet exams. A chute system is necessary for any vaccinations/needle pokes to keep both horse and handler safe. He stands well for the farrier and oral medications. Adoption Fee: $500 Height:14.2hh Maximum Carrying Weight (includes tack and rider): 180lbs
