September was a blur to me. I’d bounced from auction to auction because my old owner said I had no manners anymore. She was a younger woman and demanded I be perfect when she never even spent time with me aside from coming to get me some weekends and take me to shows. I wanted to have a friendship but after awhile I just gave up. She didn’t keep my training tuned up and still expected me to do everything I was once taught. I pin my ears and am aggressive now because I had gone without food for so long. Thankfully since being here I’ve been getting special feed and am living on my own because I get attached to other horses. I know I have bad habits to break but I’m tired of just being an item. I hope I can find someone that wants to help me overcome these thing or just be the handsomest thing in their pasture.
Rain is a pretty dude. He sadly came through auction in very bad shape and was not happy to be around humans at all. We got him back to the shelter and have let him settle and taken our time. He has been seen by the Farrier and vet and did ok for them. He is traumatized from his past which we don’t know much of and he tends to be on the pushy side rather than the flighty side of fear. We have treated him for ulcers to make sure his misbehavior was not because of a health issue. The vet and chiropractor cleared him and said he just needs put in his place. These things take time and consistency to overcome and we will strive for the best while he is here but if you are interested, have the experience in working him through these things and would like to give him a good home we would love to count him as another horse destained for a bright future. I would suggest he go to a trainer or someone that would have a trainer helping them.
