Vices/Quirks: "Listen, Linda..," This horse has lived his life with minimal care and training, and now that he is at Bella Run he is getting both! He is currently in training with one of our interns and she has done SO much with him! Continue his training with some dedication and he will be one heck of a horse! He is funny and quirky (don’t worry, we’ll share all the pro-tips we’ve learned so you can be successful with him) and so so pretty. A solid guy with great bone, he could be suitable for a variety of disciplines... eventually. He is SOUND and SOLID. They just don’t make them like this anymore! We will be honest though, this is a horse for the training enthusiast only. He is not an easy horse and definitely needs to be with someone who can be firm but fair to keep him on the right track.
Likes: cookies and scratches under his mane! He also appreciates a routine during his training sessions as it helps with his confidence!
Bathes/Loads/Ties: We were working on bathing and he was doing really great but then it got cold so we stopped that training. He loads on a trailer well, and he ties very well.
Stands well for vet/farrier: He was sedated for the farrier last time and stood with some wiggling but was not dangerous. He is very good for injections/vet care.
Maintenance: none. He is stout and sound.
Ideal Home: with someone who has experience training and has patience. Linda will not be adopted out to first time horse owners or beginners under any circumstances. We are looking for a person who wants to build a relationship with one. Linda tries very hard and has come SO FAR, and we want his success to be continued! Don’t worry, if you aren’t a good match for Linda, we’ll tell you!

Notes: Linda is currently in our training program with one of our interns. We are currently working on riding in an arena and he is doing very well in a calm, structured environment. We are happy to say that he is retaining all of the info that we give him and is VERY smart! Despite his progress, we will still not adopt Linda out to first time horse owners or beginners at this time. This is a Bella Run policy that we have with young horses that aren't broke to ride yet. With our young and untrained horses, we require their new owner to have training experience

To adopt from Bella Run Equine:
-We are located in Athens, Ohio, so before contacting us be sure to map it out and make sure you are willing to make the drive.
-We require a vet/farrier reference.
-We need your address and photos of your barn, fence, and current animals.
-Once approved to adopt, you will need to come and meet the horse you are interested in. We do not do sight unseen adoptions. This is to ensure a good fit between horse and rider.
-Since you will be approved to adopt when you come for your meet and greet, you are welcome to bring a trailer with you and take your horse home the same day. You can also choose to go home and think about it!
-We do not adopt out to people under the age of 21 or people who have been charged with animal cruelty or neglect. We will check.
-We do require our adopters to sign an adoption contract that states that the horse is not to be sold (must be returned to BRE in the event that you cannot keep them). We do not allow our mares to go to homes where they will be bred. No exceptions.
-We do NOT have regular 9-5 hours and schedule meet and greets by appointment only.
