Meet Folly
Rescued along with 21 other horses from a neglect case. They had been starved and some had never been handled. Folly and her buddy Bugsy have been enjoying the past year in a foster home learning how to be companion horses.
Folly is a curious one, she always wants to know what we are up to. She loves getting rubbed, behind her ear/ jawline is her favorite. Fosters have been able to get her in and out of a halter but is much easier in a contained area using treat or feed to convince her. She accepts and will walk on a lead rope. She does well staying behind you as you walk. She does spook at new things but if you hang tight and talk to her she will calm down. Foster family has been able to stall her. She has been stalled overnight without issues. They take her on walks out in the yard with no issues. They have been able to pick her feet but only for short times so far. She is still learning this. She will allow her entire body to be brushed and touched. They can lean some weight on her back, but have not done a pad, saddle or a person. She is very excited and driven by food. She would do well with reward based training methods. She does nip occasionally and may do best with an experienced handler. She usually goes for the shoulder or arm when you aren't looking. She likes to charge at the dog if she gets to close but does well with yard birds and responds well to kids. She does know how to work the fence line, she is smart and if you do not have a hot fence or a solid fence she will find the weak spot. Her interaction with Bugsy is pretty typical. He bosses her around, bites her bottom and pushes her away from food but she holds her own and fights back. They also love each other. They run, play and groom together. Adoption fee is two for one if both horses go home together.
