Meet Bugsy

Ready to start training. Bugsy has a soft spot for neck rubs and sweet talk. He is a bit stubborn and likes to be the boss. He was rescued along with 22 other horses from a neglect situation. All of the horses were starved and many had never been handled. He was still a stallion but was gelded shortly after rescue. He and buddy horse Folly have been in a foster home for the past year learning halter and manners that go along with being companion horses. His foster family can halter him although they say it is easiest done in a contained area. Bugsy accepts and will walk willingly on a lead rope. He does well staying behind you as you walk. He does still spook easily at new things but if you hang tight and talk to him he will calm right down. He has been put in a stall and he has been stalled without issues overnight and when weather is rough. He has a silly side and loves to make a mess of the barn if you give him the chance, the victim is usually the food or grooming tote but he loves to knock things over for the fun of it lol. They take him on walks out in the yard to graze on halter with no issues. They are able to pick up his feet for a few seconds at a time. He is just learning. He will allow his entire body to be brushed and touched. They can lean weight on his back, but have not done a pad, saddle or a person. He is still very excited and driven by food. He is a great candidate for reward based training! He likes to follow you around the yard or pasture and desires attention. He doesn't mind dogs, ducks, chickens or cats, he also respects kids just as much as adults. His interaction with buddy horse Folly is pretty typical. He bosses her around, bites her bottom and pushes her away from food but she holds her own and fights back. They also love each other. They run, play and groom together.
Adoption is a two for one fee if taken together.
