Indoor Dog Parks

Indoor dog parks are a great way for your dog to get exercise during the cold winter months.

Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean your dog is content to waste away the winter months lying on the sofa watching old reruns of Lassie. Do him a favor and check for indoor dog parks in your area. They provide your dog the opportunity to get tons of great exercise in a climate-controlled environment. Here is just a sampling of the indoor dog parks available across the country.

Portland, OR – Fido’s Indoor Dog Park & Pool (4949 SE 25th Ave; 503.477.9379)
Like many other indoor parks, Fido’s also offers doggie daycare and boarding services. They go one step further, however, with the addition of a doggie pool, especially beneficial for older dogs with arthritis or joint health issues. The park offers a mini version of its indoor play area for smaller breeds that might be intimidated by the big guys.

Concord, CA – Barka Lounge (1776 Arnold Industrial Way, Suite M; 925.692.2144)
Barka Lounge is California’s very first indoor dog park! They also offer doggie daycare, grooming and cageless boarding. Barka has three separate play areas, and dogs are divided based on size, temperament and energy level. Their climate-controlled space also includes patches of real grass for your dog to relieve himself inside.

Edina, MN – Ruff House Canine Social Club (6879 Washington Ave S; 952.405.9147) Ruff House offers five flexible membership plans to fit everyone’s schedule and exercise needs. All dogs are temperament tested on their first visit to ensure the safety of all members, and a special small dog play area is available so all the little guys can have fun, too. Ruff House also offers a self-serve dog wash complete with tub and grooming tools.

Cambridge, MA – Mom & Paws Indoor Dog Park & Daycare (127 Smith Place; 617.714.3551)
Mom & Paws offers a 4,000 square foot indoor park lined with artificial turf. It is divided into two sections so that small and shy dogs have their own area to play. Owners are welcome to play with their dogs, or let them enjoy the area with their canine friends. A lounge area is available for owners to relax and enjoy refreshments while their dogs play.

New York City – Fetch Club (85 South Street; 212.401.8199)
Fetch Club is a private member’s indoor dog park and canine hotel located in Manhattan’s financial district. This 13,000 square foot facility offers many amenities for the discriminating canine. In addition to their infrared sauna, the air is cleaned by an industrial purifying system complete with charcoal and HEPA filters. The park has a doggie spa and salon, fitness center, theater, and even a doggie restaurant!
