We are waiving their fee and will pay to transport them to an approved home.


They are URGENT!! The longer these dogs are with us the less dogs we can save. They are anxious with us. They must be separated from our dogs. They also need more exercise. They need an immediate foster or adopter. They are amazing dogs but its not humane to keep them here.

They joined us December 30, 2019 after being in the shelter a month.

Zydeco is a 5 year old German shepherd. He's 73 lbs. Luna is a 8 year old border collie mix. She's 63 lbs. Both can stand to lose a little more weight. They are bonded. They get very upset when they leave the room from each other. They are very active. They love playing in the yard. They rough house. They are left free in my house. They are housebroken & not destructive. I'm not a fan of either breed but they are both fabulous dogs. They were there when their home was raided by the cops. They were taken from their father & left in the shelter for a month. They don't know me at all. I don't have the time to spend with them. They are scared of what's happening. They don't understand anything. They're terrified of being abandoned again. Both are fixed. They're up to date on vaccinations heartworm and flea prevention. They had a great exam. Both were treated for ear infections. She has seen the dermatologist in the past. She doesn't seem too bad to me for having been in the shelter. She's a little itchy. We believe its due to being fed better food than their previous life. We've been told by techs this is the best theyve ever looked. We tested their urine but it was fine. We sent out the fecal & both were treated for giardia. They've had great vet care in the past. We know Zydeco had his stomach tacked. We know Luna had a vulvaplasty. We have a copy of their vet history including Luna's allergy test. Zydeco is on prozac for his anxiety. We were told by multiple people he was anxious since he was a puppy. Most shepherds are anxious. They love everyone they meet. They've been great with the pigs and small dogs. I was told Luna doesn't like large females. Neither had issues with my dog but my dog is very submissive. They are perfect in the car. They walk well on leashes. They both know sit. Zydeco knows shake. We've been told their father never touched them. They do not have any evidence of that either. These dogs do not understand why their life was turned upside down. Regardless what their father did they shouldnt suffer. As long as they can get adequate exercise they'd be happy anywhere. They are good with the cat but will eat all the food. They would love to take daily long walks or go hiking. These aren't couch dogs unless they've been worn out prior. Their adoption fee is $200 for both dogs. They are located in New Orleans, LA but we will adopt anywhere in the united states and can possibly help with transportation fees.
