Zuri Pit Bull Terrier Mix Palatine, IL

Greetings! My name is Zuri which means “beautiful” and no word was more truly spoken. Look into my eyes and see my beautiful spirit and loving soul. I am a 2-year-old female Pit Bull mix weighing about 50 pounds.  

I am housebroken and will signal by barking or appearing restless when I need to go out. I don’t chew on anything that isn’t mine and I’m not a fussy eater; I am treat motivated, and eager to learn. My leash walking skills are improving daily and I enjoy walks and seeing new things. I like to play catch — have not yet graduated to fetch insomuch as I do not give up the ball readily after I catch it…we’re working on that.

I get along with other dogs, although I can sometimes be reactive on leash. After a proper introduction and some sniffing, I calm down and we get along. But because I tend to resource guard my people, I would be happiest as an only dog. I am somewhat of a free spirit so I will test you to see what I can get away with, but I am easily distracted with a treat to correct my behavior. I like riding in the car and do not get car sick. I am not much of a barker, and I love cuddles and stuffed Kongs.

I am the perfect office companion and the ideal work-from-home co-worker. Come meet me at our new Adoption Center in Palatine!
