Meet Zumi ADOPTED:)

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER. WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE: To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in.

Here is the Dog Application that you can copy and paste into a browser: https://fs17.formsite.com/waverlypetrescue/form028182466/index.html

Zumi is 4 years old and weighs 12 pounds. We were told that he is a pure bred Silky Terrier. Zumi is now a Waverly Pet Rescue dog. He is up to date on shots, dewormed, treated with Frontlline, tested heartworm negative, on heartguard and neutered.

Zumi is a wonderful little dog. He is housetrained and crate trained. He does needs to be an only pet in a home. He becomes extremely attached to his human, man or woman, and becomes aggressive with any other animal that lives in the same home and tries to get attention. He will need a home that does not have cats or other dogs. It also would not work if you have friends of family that visit and bring their pets with. Zumi wants to be your one and only. Zumi loves to be outside so a fenced in yard would be perfect for him. Zumi also loves to go for talks and would make a great walking buddy. Older kind children with dog experience should be ok. We are going to say no to young children in the home. He will need an owner that can afford to get him groomed when he needs it.

We really want Zumi to go to the absolute best home, he deserves that. He would be perfect for someone that is home a lot and can spend a lot of time with him. He will bond with you and be the best friend you have always wanted.

"Hi, my name is Zumi, and through no fault of my own I'm looking for a new home. I got my name because when I get excited I zoom around the house/yard a million miles an hour. My mom says it's really funny to watch. I'm a little guy, only 12 lbs, but I think I'm mighty! My current mom has a fenced yard, which I love because I love to chase squirrels and rabbits, and my mom doesn't run fast enough to catch them when I'm on my leash. I'm not really around older children, but the times they have said hi and petted me I loved it. So I think I would be ok sharing a home with them. But I'm a really good listener, and come right back when mom calls me, so as long as we can go on lots of walks, a fenced yard isn't a requirement. Have I mentioned I love to play? Tug and fetch are my favorite, but any interaction is fun for me. I like my mom to chase me saying "I'm going to get you!" (she never does lol), but am also happy to lay on the couch and snooze or chew on a treat. I also adore sleeping in bed with mom, and keep her warm in the winter. Overall I'm a pretty happy fella, and hope you will consider me as your new companion!"

Will someone please adopt Zumi and give him a forever home? $195.00 adoption fee.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to waverlypetrescue@mchsi.com

All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $350 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
