Zola Labrador Retriever & Black Labrador Retriever Mix Newport, RI

Oh, where do I begin with my precious girl Zola? She has so many beautiful sides to her that are wonderful. There's the energetic, wiggle butt, who barks excitedly when I come home from work. There's the quiet more laid back Zola when I'm on the couch watching a movie. There's the attentive at my feet Zola while I cook dinner. Zola does have a bit of energy but it's mostly when I come home from work. She is kenneled when I leave the house so I'm sure she's ready to get out and play as soon as I walk through the door! I have a large yard so Zola gets plenty of time to run around and get her energy out! Once she's done running around and playing, she'll come in and plop down and relax. Zola is a very friendly and love-able dog. She is friendly to all and has a heart of gold.

Zola does chew. On shoes! She has ruined quite a few pairs of mine and my children's so I have to keep them locked up in the closet. You’ve been warned! This happy girl is a bit clumsy when she is let out of her kennel and does a spin, dance, twirl move which tends knock over anything in her path; almost like she's a miniature tornado.

have so enjoyed having Zola with me. Zola came to me, during a difficult time in my life last year, and I found myself leaning heavily on her gentle soul. She's attentive to my needs and was always right there to snuggle with me when I needed her. Even my cat, who is a recluse when it comes to my other dogs, snuggled with Zola on the couch or bed. Animals know a gentle soul when they meet one and Zola's is so full of love to give. Zola has eyes that cross a bit when she looks up at me with love in her eyes and I found myself falling more and more in love with those big, brown, crossed eyes every day.

Watch your bag of dog food! I was so confused for months as to why it always seemed like I had less and less dog food than I remembered, and at one point even felt alarmed at how bad my memory was becoming, until one day I caught Zola with her head shoved all the way down the bag of dog food happily chomping away. She didn't even have the decency to look ashamed when I caught her. She just looked at me with her tail wagging, crunching away at her endless buffet. I now keep it in a large closed container.

Zola is around 3 years old and weighs about 60 pounds. She is crate trained and house trained. Zola is good with kids, other dogs and cats as well.

To the person that ends up with Zola, your life will be for the better having her contagious bubbly energy and love radiate throughout your home. I was beyond blessed having her here with me and the wonderful laughs she brought to my family. Her presence will be greatly missed but I can't wait to see where the next chapter of her life will take her. Best wishes!
