10-08-19 - New Update from Foster Mom:
Zoey is an awesome girl who is wondering why no one wants to give her a forever home. She loves to bury her head in your lap or the crook of your elbow and just wants someone to rub behind her soft velvety ears. She is a playful girl who LOVES, LOVES, LOVES her toys! Zoey is good at fetch but will also entertain herself with squeaky toys and chew bones. She enjoys being outside to soak up the sun and scratch her back in the grass. Zoey can have a lot of energy at times which makes her pull when she’s on a leash. She does much better with a gentle leader but if everyday walks are a must in your home, she would need a strong person to handle the job. Zoey would much rather have a nice big fenced in yard though so she can run, play and sunbathe! A home with older children and larger dogs would be better for Zoey because of her size. Overall she is a GREAT dog who loves people and gets along well with other dogs. Zoey will make some person or family a very welcome addition to their home.
8-17-19 - Well, who is this pretty young lady you might ask? Why, she is one of our new additions to the OLTL family and her name is Zoey. She is scheduled to arrive on transport on Sunday, Aug. 25th and it would be wonderful if she had an adopter waiting for her when she gets here. Our rescue does allow a short term foster period to make sure that the dog is a good fit for your family and your style of living. This Foster-to-Adopt option only pertains when you are picking up your dog, or puppy, directly from transport. Please ask us about this option at the time you submit your application for Zoey..... or for any of our dogs for that matter. This stunning Lab blend was rescued from a high kill shelter after being surrendered by her owner due to the owner moving and not being able to bring sweet Zoey along. Zoey's former owner said that she is a Bulldog/Lab mix and so that is what we are listing her as. We suppose a DNA test would solve the mystery if her new person wanted to know for sure. Zoey is about two years of age and she weighs approximately 60 lbs. She is nothing short of being an absolute sweetheart. Zoey is a very loving and friendly girl who has tested very well with other dogs. We are not really sure as to how she would do with cats but caution is ALWAYS advised when introducing any new dog to cats. We do think that Zoey would fit in well with a family who would like to give to give her lots of love and attention. Zoey is already spayed, micro-chipped and current with vaccines. She has recently been treated for heart-worm disease and she is well past the "restricted activity" period of her recovery phase.
