Zoey Chihuahua Mix Rochester, NY

Zoey is a 10 year old chihuahua mix who found herself in need of a place to spend her golden years. Zoeys human sadly had to move to a nursing home due to dementia and was unable to bring Zoey with her. Zoeys foster mom knew someone in Rochester would have a heart as big as Zoeys and be able to offer her a safe plan to land so Zoey travelled up from Texas! Zoey was diagnosed with a heart murmur, enlarged heart and has heart failure but none of this is holding her back from enjoying every day. Zoey loves traveling from napping spot to napping spot, short walks or being carried around, relaxing outside and lots of pets. Everyone once in awhile she will get the zoomies and run around for a wild 3 minutes. Her favorite spot to sleep is in bed next to her foster mom sometimes amongst the pillows. She is hand fed 2-3 times a day depending if she wants lunch or not. Zoey mostly eats canned food but will sometimes snack on dry food like people do popcorn. Chicken nuggets are her all time favorite treat to steal! She is fine with all other animals and people that are kind to her, she will get sassy and ask for space if a big dog comes over and starts licking her (her big foster brother does not understand that Zoey does not love being covered in slobber) Zoey has joined her foster is lots of activities like yoga and going to dog friendly breweries and is fine to join in social activities as long as no one gets offended if she naps when she needs. Zoey will need medication for the rest of her life twice a day and routine check with a vet to monitor her heart but her foster mom knows she will fill the hearts of someone very special!
