About Zoe :
Zoe is a very sweet and smart girl with high energy level. She is generally very friendly with people, but sometimes can be skittish if movement is too fast. She can be easily scared by sounds or movements, but she eventually learns that there is nothing to be scared.
• "Zoe " loves a gentle doggy sibling at home . If new family has another dog will be great but prefer a submissive one , not a dominate one .
.She is very friendly with dogs. She loves to play and initiate play with dogs. Besides her playfulness, she is very agile. She is a good runner and can use some good hikes and runs to let out her energy. When she is alone at home, she usually finds toy or chews to play with. She does not destroy furniture. If she had a good run, she usually just sleeps when she is at home.
She is very smart and quick in picking up new tricks or training ! And she wants to engage more activities with you! Her recall on leash or indoor is very decent, and she will come to you when called. However, her recall outside still needs to be reinforced, since she loves to explore and wander off. Currently, she cannot be off leashed in open space. Enclosed dog park is ideal for her to let out her energy. Her leash walk is in training, and should be continued to prevent her from pulling hard.
She has very short and thin layer of coat, which makes her perfect! Only minimum maintenance and cleaning is required. She's currently on cooked/raw diet, and this helps her eliminate the body odor and keep her coat shining.
Regarding to potty training, she understands not to do her business in the house. Right now at the foster home, she has chance to go out about 3- 4 times a day. This includes 2-3 times of long walk depending on foster mom's work schedule, and 1-2 times pee breaks.
Zoe eats very gently, and she does not have food aggression.
Easily scared with sounds, but can be corrected when introduced slowing to new object.
With the nature of Formosan Mountain Dog, she does a good job protecting your home with all her heart. And her barking is not too loud and can be stopped if trained or asked to.
• Energy Level : High .she needs to exercise at least one hour / twice a day . Loves go out for walks, loves to run and play with dogs in a fenced yard ..
• Dogs : Good with dogs, very playful!
• Cats : NOT sure
• Kids : OK
• New people : - Very friendly in general. Shy and timid when first meet. Can be approached slowly.
- Warm up slowly with men.
• NO separation anxiety - when her human goes out she whines a bit.
• Chewing Issue: NO
• Not a barker , Bark or whine sometimes when sees other dogs when on leash walk. Can be corrected.
• Food motivated for training
