Meet Zinnia
Zinnia is so friendly now but when we first met her, she was so afraid of everything! We meet so many dogs like Zinnia and will meet more because this seems like it will never end. Zinnia is beautiful with the most striking ice blue eyes. She eventually did become brave enough to walk past the baby pool and a stuffie to seek out pets from us only to hear a loud sound and send her running. Zinnia has been through a lot. She's coming around more each day, rebuilding her confidence and trust with humans. What she needs now is a patient home. A place where she can feel safe and loved!
Came in as a stray on 6/6/24.
Found near 7300 S. Oglesby, Chicago
Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL
Email visitcacc@cityofchicago.org for more information.
The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID.
All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter.
Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after time for decompression for the shelter dog.
