Meet ziggy!

Ziggy is an adorable 2 year old, male, neutered, american pit bull terrier mix. He came to Almost home animal rescue from a NYC shelter after being surrendered by his owner.

Ziggy is extremely energetic. He would do best in a home with a large fenced in yard. He needs plenty of space to burn off energy.

Ziggy absolutely thrives in a structured environment. He is incredibly smart. He knows sit, paw, lay down, place - he is even learning some agility!  He is extremely motived to learn and please his person. However dogs that are very smart left to their own devices can often become a little Mischievous?? so someone intrested in continuing and reinforcing his training is his best match.

If you are active and love to take walks- ziggy is your guy! Ziggy walks excellent on a leash. He would love a home where he can have daily walks, hikes and activities.

With proper introduction ziggy is very dog social.  He loves to run and play but he doesn’t know his size or strength. Senior dogs or dogs much smaller than him can get a little over whelmed from his puppy like zest. He’s best matched with a high energy dog his size or larger.  Ziggy would love a play mate to run around with but he doesn’t always love to share his toys- but we are working on that.

When playing one on one with a person and toy he can get a little rambunctious typical behavior of a mouthy puppy but calms down quickly with commands. He takes treats very gently.

Ziggy is house broken and crate trained. He loves his crate. He will choose his crate with an open door to sleep in over a couch or dogs beds.  Ziggy is very respectful of a home and will often ask permission before going onto the couch by whining and giving you his paw.
