Zeus - Foster Needed - Courtesy Post's Story

Meet Zeus! Zeus is a sweet and very affectionate boy looking for a new home.

Zeus is a male six-year English Setter mix that is trained to know sit, stay, leave it, come, shake, lay down and roll over. He is very smart and can easily learn new things. He is loyal and friendly with his family but a little shy with strangers. He is good with children of all ages and is loyal and kind to other dogs in his home, but his hunting instincts come out around cats and small dogs that he doesn’t know well.

Zeus is 60 pounds and easy to manage on a leash although he could use some refresher training since he currently spends most of his time in his back yard. He loves to chase a ball and will play fetch all day if you want, but he just as happy patrolling the yard to make sure all the squirrels are behaving themselves. When Zeus isn’t “working” he loves to nap in the sunshine outside or curled up on his bed.

Zeus loves to cuddle and still thinks he is a lap dog (he’s not!). If you sit on the floor he will almost certainly climb right into your lap.

At night Zeus is comfortable sleeping in a crate or on pad by your bed.

Background: Zeus is coming from a home where he spends about half his time outside and half his time inside with his family. Zeus currently is in a home with his littermate which has led to some aggression with smaller dogs due to his pack instincts being heightened. An issue with a neighbor has led to Zeus needing a new home so he is separated from his sister at the direction of trainers.
