Zero Collie & Beagle Mix Palatine, IL

Zero confidence, that’s where this girl started. Zero, a sweet Collie mix, came to SCCR in October frightened of her own shadow. She’d been a stray all of her short life (now just over a year old) and was afraid to let anyone near. But with gentle patience and consistent kindness from her foster family, she is now ready to venture out and find her forever home.

This beautiful 30-pound girl will need a home with another dog (or two) to help show her the ropes. Zero loves other dogs, particularly large ones, and is happiest when running around the yard with them. She has a huge prey drive and will chase birds and squirrels enthusiastically. Zero has never shown any aggression — her tendency when scared is to run, so a well-fenced yard is critical.

She’s a bit of a hoarder. Yeah, she’ll gather all the toys and stash them in her crate (very cute). Zero is housebroken and crate-trained and only barks when she is outside.

If you are gentle, patient, have a fenced yard and a confident dog or two, you may be just the person Zero needs. Once she trusts you, you have a friend for life.
