Zenith's Story

Hi my name is Zenith but my foster family calls me Zen, Zenny or the Zenmeister. I am approximately two years old and weigh 37 pounds. I am an Australian Shepherd mix. I am a pretty handsome guy with my bright blue eyes. This isn’t just my opinion I get it everywhere I go! I am a sweet, affectionate guy that loves everyone I meet. I am all about the belly rubs and snuggles. I am also a little dog in a big dogs body. I really want to be a lap dog and my foster dad indulges me. He’s awesome!

I was found out in the country running across a busy road. The young lady that rescued me was unable to find my family and made a commitment to keep me thru adoption. She is my person in my foster home. She loves me and I love her but she is headed off to college in the fall. I am sure going to miss her. I am all about my people and am a Velcro dog. If you go to the bathroom…I go to the bathroom. If you go to the kitchen…I go to the kitchen. You see I am deaf and I was born that way. It’s just a way of life for me and I have learned to compensate for it. My sense of smell is phenomenal. I will still live a long life but will be a little more dependent on my people than other dogs. I will count on you to keep me on leash when I am away from familiar surroundings. I have been working on buzz collar training and it’s coming right along. the more practice and treats I get the better. They say practice makes perfect. Right?! The buzz mainly tells me to look for you and come. I would do best with someone who is home a lot. If you work from home that would be great or if you are retired that would work also. Although I am crate trained, I am not a fan of being cooped up in there for 8-10 hours every day while you go to work.

I walk well on a leash and love to be out and about. I am friendly to other dogs and would do well in a home with another playful dog. My best friend in my foster home is Tigress. I do everything she does. She is kind of like my lighthouse in a storm.

I ride well in the car and love big adventures. I am pretty quiet but will bark initially for a few minutes when you leave me. With that being said, I am not an apartment dog.

I am neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and otherwise healthy.

Please email kamcdm@yahoo.com for application instructions and any additional information.

***On a side note, my girl thinks I look great in pink
