Zelda is a quite sweet 12 year old Belgian Malinois mix, born 02/15/2010. Zelda is overweight at 129 lb and is working on weight management at her current foster home. She also has elbow and hip dysplasia and arthritis. A program of reasonable weight loss, perhaps water exercise, physical therapy or other measures, as well as the carprofen she takes for pain and inflammation may help Zelda improve and become more comfortable. Zelda is a loving dog despite her limitations, and knows how to share a lot of love. Zelda would prefer a quiet home without active dogs or children, not because she does not like them but because of her pain. She would love to spend the rest of her life in a loving, calm home with preferably adopters who could financially try some different treatments from vets to see if there can be less pain in her life, but Zelda still enjoys life and gives love wholeheartedly. An application must be filled out and accepted before a meet can be set up. If accepted, you will hear from us within 72 hours. You will have the opportunity to ask questions before you meet the pet; an adoption may or may not happen at that time. We do adopt outside the Yakima area IF you are able to come to Yakima to pick up your adopted pet. We do not have a kennel facility; all of our pets are in foster homes. Therefore, meets and adoptions take place at either our office or at a place chosen by the foster. If a pet has 'pending' beside its name, an adoption is imminent. Please fill out an application anyway because adoptions don't always go through. Your application will be kept on file for 30 days in case you find another pet you'd like to apply for.
