Zeke Mixed Breed Blue Island, IL

Hi, I’m Zeke! A few weeks ago, I wasn’t sure I was ready for this. I came in very scared and very nervous, and confused and unsure of where I was or why I was there. But once I realized that the people around me only wanted to help me, that they were ready with pets and cuddles and treats? I was ALL FOR IT, and all my fear went away.

I am a two-year-old mix, and it turns out, I really am a big softie. My big head wants to rest on your lap, I want to put my paws on your arms and rest and lean and melt right into you. All the volunteers here cannot believe how once I was no longer scared, I turned into the most affectionate, cuddle-seeking lovebug, and if you will just spend a few minutes rubbing my face or scratching my neck or back, I will close my beautiful eyes and almost purr like a cat.

Cats! I am so good with cats! And other dogs, too. I do not react when I see either, and would love to spend my days cuddled up with as many friends as I can. I am good in the car, I LOVED having a bath and being snuggled with towels, and I already know a few commands. I guess I’m pretty smart, and my volunteers say I’m very handsome as well—I hope you’ll come and meet me and see the beautiful pattern of my coat, my love-filled bright eyes, and the perfect white landing strip on my snout, placed there for pets and kisses.

I am available immediately for rescue or adoption, and I am up-to-date on vaccinations and am neutered and chipped as well.

After all I’ve been through, I still can totally trust that the right person is out there for me—to lean on, to follow around, and to adore. Can you trust it, too?
