Meet Zeke
This guy is ~2 years old young adult that came to ACDRA from a shelter as heart-worm positive stray. He weighs in at 40lbs, and is up to date on all vaccinations, preventatives, and is neutered. Zeke completed his heart-worm treatment and the vet says everything looks good with his heart!
Zeke is very low energy for a cattle dog he enjoys his daily walks and happily wags his little nub tail on our short hikes around the neighborhood. He is friendly to others when out on a walk, he gentle when getting new people, but he gets super excited and is surprisingly fast when seeing small dogs/rabbits/squirrels moving around.
Zeke is extremely protective of his home, and will need you to work with his slow greetings of strangers. Zeke is muzzle trained and is muzzled whenever new people enter the foster home, he will nip path them until he realizes that they are ok. When around other reactive dogs he can get excited, so he would work best best in a home where things are nice and calm.
Zeke is a couch potato, and is more than happy to climb up in your lap when you sit down, and has been a great companion when working at home, he is housebroken, and knows basic commands. He has free roam of the house during the day, and has found a favorite dog pad to crash on when it's quiet. He is crate trained and has had no issues overnight or during the day in his crate, he often takes his favorite deer antler into his crate for a little alone chew time.
Zeke is being fostered in Jessup, MD and is looking for his forever home. If you think you are it, or have any other questions about Zeke, please reach out and contact johan.stewart@gmail.com.
