Meet Yzma

Yzma is a one year old, 35 pound heeler x and is the sweetest dog. She loves to love and will happily lie on you and lick you for hours on end. She very much displays the characteristics of a heeler. She is very playful, inquisitive, easily excited and very intelligent. She has a lot of energy and would do best with a yard or with someone who can take her on multiple hour long walks daily. She rarely barks (if ever) and is crate and house trained. She loves to chew - always - and literally anything so you need to keep and eye on her when she's exploring so she doesn't eat your new shoes. She will need some obedience training, but is a fast learner and with the right love and care, will be perfect in no time. She would be a great addition to a family or a really active single/couple.

This pet's adoption fee is $425. She is being fostered in Manhattan. To adopt this pet, please visit

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
