Xena Pit Bull Terrier Mix Meriden, CT

Meet our happy girl Xena! Xena was brought to us to be surrendered because unfortunately her owner could no longer care for her. She is around 2 years old and loves to play with toys, but her favorite thing is getting lots of attention and snuggles! Xena likes to be an alpha, so she is very selective with other dogs. She would probably do best as the only dog in a home, but may do well with play-dates on neutral turf. Due to her high energy, we don’t believe Xena will do well with kitties(she would probably chase them). Xena is a very smart girl, who knows her name and a few commands, but is very strong and will pull on the leash when excited, so she will need to be refreshed on some manners. She loves to hug and give affection. Xena can go to a home with children 12 yrs old and older. You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID.There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.
ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
