Volunteer comments: Xabi was in fine form this morning. He was so happy to get out and enjoy the morning. He walked super as usual. His initial burst of energy is quickly subdued once we get moving. Today he had minimal reactions to a dog on the other side of the street and two cats in driveways that we passed. He does best short leashed and to get his attention in those moments so he can work through it as he does want to react initially. He loves to roll in the grass and to get belly rubs and head scratches in the shade of a tree. He really is a sweet goofball and I’m shocked he’s still here.

Additional comments:
Xabi is a total goofball who loves to get out and about and take in the world around him. He is very excited at the starts of his walk but settles in nicely. He has good leash skills and basic commands. Xabi loves to roll in the grass and sit in the shade near the end of his walks. He happily laps up attention and pets. Xabi has demonstrated a bit of leash reactivity with other dogs but it is selective and very easily managed/corrected. There are many times that he is able to walk on and move past other dogs without reacting. He has been packed walked successfully with female dogs.

Dog walker comments:

How has Xabi not found a home! What an incredibly sweet boy! He was super stoked to be out on his walk and pulled alot. That may have also been because there was a dog walking in front of us most of the way. But he sat multiple times when asked and recieved verbal praise and pets. When I tried to get photos, he kept coming to me and leaning on me. What a sucker, let's hope we can find someone he can love on forever!”
