Because he's not destructive when left alone, his foster family doesn't always use the crate. Woody responds well to direction, listens when corrected, and can easily be redirected with a toy.<br/><br/>Social Life<br/>Woody gets along well with other dogs once they get to know each other. He can be a bit overenthusiastic in play because he doesn't always realize his size, but he means well and adjusts quickly with guidance. He has also done well with the resident cat, respectfully backing off after a warning hiss. A home where he's not left alone for long periods would make him happiest.<br/><br/>This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH's heartworm coordinator.
