Meet Winnie's Story

-Written by Winnie, a 3-4-month-old, 42lb female Great Pyrenees.
---------------------------------------------

Are you ready to meet the cutest and most adorable puppy around? Where is she you ask? Well, its me of course silly! I am a very sweet and goofy 3-4 month-old Great Pyrenees pup. I am fun. I am cuddly. I am loving it. And I am ready to find my PYRfect family! ♥

I came to PPFT after my owner got me and soon realized that I was going to be much bigger than they had space for. They needed to find me a place ASAP, and thankfully a foster with this rescue stepped up for me. It wasn't long after that I entered my foster home and started a new chapter in my life! ♥

I have the typical and lovable puppy personality that you just can't help but love. I am playful but also love naps and just relaxing with my family. I am not interested in this game called fetch. I don't get why you keep throwing me toys in the opposite direction. However, I have discovered that toys can be fun to play with and chew on. I have not been on any walks yet due to age, so will need some more work with on this thing called a "leash." It is hard to say right now if I am the kind of pup that would love going places and on hikes with my new family. I guess time will tell :)

So far, I have made friends with everyone that I have met. I quickly befriended the dog in my foster home and love playing with her. I have also met the cat in my foster home and don't pay much attention to him. I love the kids in my foster home, but I am a playful girl and may accidentally knock a really young kiddo over. So, hopefully, the kids in my new home will be older so I don't have to worry about it. I like meeting new people but am also on the shy side. Once I get to know them I am all kisses and sweetness though. I can be a little growly when meeting new dogs, but once I realize they mean me no harm it doesn't take long for me to become besties with them.

I am learning all sorts of things about being in the house and part of the family. One of the things, I am working on is not pottying the house. I am getting better but sometimes may still have an accident so hopefully that won't be a dealbreaker for my new family. I am also working on being kennel trained. I am learning what is okay to chew and what isn't. I tend to stick to my toys but sometimes might be tempted to grab something else. I am easily redirected though. Plus, I am still a puppy...so what did ya expect? ;) I can be vocal at times, but nothing out of the norm I would say.

That is all I have to share about myself. I really hope that we are a match. The app to adopt me can be found at https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3

Please I am begging you though, only apply to adopt me if you can keep me forever. If you can't keep me through ALL of my life's changes, don't be the one that makes me have to be passed around a few months/years down the line. That just isn't fair to me.

I would NEVER give up on you, so please don't give up on me. I want to be your forever...not your until dog.

FROM HER FOSTER MOM ?

~Winnie is much younger than we expected - we were told she was going to be 7 months and she ended up being between 3-4 months. She is very much a puppy, with all that this entails. She is playful and loves chasing our other dog, Farrow, around the yard, she loves to cuddle with her foster family on the couch. Winnie has the SOFTEST white fur. She can be a bit of a scamp and loves to find ways to get her beautiful soft white fur dirty, but she cleans off easily. She is shy and timid at first, and initially was food aggressive with our other dog, however that has reduced tremendously as she has learned that she will always be fed in our house (apparently that was not always the case at her previous home). Winnie doesn't need constant attention, but when left to her own devices she can get into some mischief. She is not house-trained yet, but we are working on it, and she has been very good about using the pee pads. All in all, she is going to make a great addition to someone's family who is willing to take the time to do proper puppy training with her.

It is hard to say what her ideal home would be right now. In the two weeks she has been with us Winnie has been friendly and has enjoyed playing with our other dog, but she doesn't seem bothered by being alone. She is only four months old, and is very much a puppy, so time will tell. I believe she is young enough to be adaptable.~
