Winnie Jindo & Labrador Retriever Mix Gardnerville, NV

Winnie is available to foster or adopt!

Winnie is about 8 months old and recently arrived in rescue with her brother, Roo, (already adopted), and mother, Kanga. We expect her weight to be around 45lbs when fully grown.
She is a Jindo mix ( with possibly lab or shepherd mixed in) They were left at the Apple Valley CA animal shelter with their Mother ( their Mother is currently not available for adoption). It is believed that these puppies were NOT abused but probably left outside in a yard ignored. Due to this they are extremely scared .

Winnie is very very shy and on the feral side. The perfect home/ foster would need patience and time to work with her. You would need to have a puppy pen set up inside your home to allow her to be close by and to learn from watching all that is going on around her. She is slowly learning the leash and is a work in progress, so she will need to be double-leashed at all times, inside and out, for the time being . She is afraid of all humans but learning . Her fear does make her an escape risk so someone with dog experience is a plus. We would recommend she go to a home with a yard (no apartments), and someone who is home a lot, (she needs regular continuous leash training, and needs accompanying to go outside for toilet), and and even has other large dogs (of a polite nature), would be a plus.

She is currently in foster south of Reno in Nevada, but we welcome applications for fostering or adopting her from surrounding areas, including NorCal and the Bay Area.
