MY AGE: approx. 7 years WEIGHT: approx. 8 lbs
MY STORY: Meet Windom, a sweet 7-year-old female poodle who weighs just 8 pounds of pure charm. Released from a breeding situation, Windom is embarking on a new chapter in her life, and she's ready to find a loving forever home where she can truly flourish.
Windom may be a bit shy as she adjusts to the comforts of home life, but don’t let her timid nature fool you—she’s a bundle of joy who absolutely adores people. Her playful personality shines through as she eagerly jumps up and down in her pen to get attention, showing her silly side and enthusiasm for interaction.
Windom is in a foster home and this is what her foster mom has to say about her so far:
The snuggle is real with this girl! Winnie has so much love to give. Please consider opening your heart and home to this little doll. She is ready to be your best snuggle buddy!
Some observations about Windom:
- Eats well. She’s not picky.
- So far, she has done all of her potties outside.
- Good in the car.
- Likes to be by my side, but will hang out on a cozy blanket or dog bed in another room while I work around the house.
- LOVES belly rubs.
- Does stairs easily.
- Walks well on a leash, but will let you know when she’s tired by sitting down and refusing to go any further. She’s only 8 lbs., so it’s easy to snuggle her up and carry her.
- Looks adorable in a little fleece coat (She was shaking in the wind on our first walk. She’s so little!).
- Not reactive to other dogs or cats.
- Prefers to sleep in the bed with me.
My only complaint so far is her doggy breath, which I can smell when she showers me with kisses. Bring on the Greenies and dental treatos!
Because her experience has been limited to a breeding environment. She’ll need patient and understanding adopters who can offer her the time and support she needs to build confidence and trust.
If you’re looking for a small, loving companion who will bring a touch of playfulness and affection into your life, Windom is the perfect match. With a little patience and a lot of love, she’s ready to be your devoted friend and cherished family member.

To adopt the FIRST STEP is to complete an APPLICATION.
Adopters must be 24 years of age. We can not adopt to families with children under the age of six. We also only adopt in WI, IL, and parts of MN. Most of our dogs are strays, so the breed is our best guess.
