Meet Wilma - $400

What is love? LOVE IS SURVIVAL....She lived as a stray for over a year. Running alone in the wild, eating whatever she could find or what the farmer would throw out to her. Then, about 9 weeks ago it was no longer only about her survival, but the survival of her 5 little ones she birthed. She fought off coyotes and who knows what else! LOVE IS SACRIFICE..... once those little ones came along her sole purpose was to provide for them. It was no longer about feeding herself, but about nourishing them. She gave everything she had to keep them alive.... sacrificing herself for them... she became skin and bones while her puppies thrived. LOVE IS KINDNESS... she has to be one of the gentlest, sweetest souls you'll ever meet in a dog. She loves hard.... both her puppies and her people! She can't get enough love from those around her ...
LOVE IS WILMA! This beautiful girl has had a life that has made her feel unworthy of being loved, but oh, she is SO worthy! She deserves a life where someone is able to pour into her what she so freely gave to others. Where her needs are met above and beyond. Where she is able to experience UNCONDITIONAL LOVE!!!! Are you willing and able to love her this way? If so, please submit your application to Lucky Mutts Rescue.
Wilma is a 2 year old Great Dane that came to us EXTREMELY malnourished. She is a very tall girl who is now probably 105+ pounds.... she needs to put on more weight, which will not be a problem because she loves to eat. She still thinks every meal is her last, so she does have some food aggression and needs to be watched while eating from a bowl around other dogs. She plays well with her foster brothers. She dotes on her humans. We are working on teaching her about personal space.... she wants to be as close to you as possible. She did great while gated in the kitchen, but now that her puppies are gone and she's roaming the house we have had some accidents. She is responsive to correction. We are working on basic commands with her as well. She is such a kind soul!

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- www.luckymuttsrescue.org and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home.

Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs.
