Meet Willow

SEP 20: Wow hasn't time flown by! Willow is still here with me and she's doing great. We're really focusing on her obedience now and she is such a smart girl! She's got "sit" and "down" and she knows to sit and wait when it's dinner time. We're working on her leash walking manners and firming up her stays, but she's doing really well all in all. I think I'm going to try to thrown a few tricks in for this girl just to make things interesting. We recently had a photo shoot for SNAP so I had to update her photos with one of those. She was supposed to look like a tough dog in her shades but she just looks like a diva!!JUL 25: Willow has had her photo shoot so I've updated her pics! I apologize for the poorer quality of the third picture - I took it with my camera phone at a pet store protest but I included it here because I wanted you to see some of her very unique markings and also get a better sense of her compact size. You can also see that there's a chihuahua in the background, and Willow does get along great with all other dogs. She's also clearly doing well being pet by total strangers and in an environment that is pretty hectic. In other words, you can take this girl with you anywhere!!I've changed her breed description because I don't want to scare people away from this girl. She is truly one of the BEST dogs I've ever had in rescue. She is clearly part catahoula (here's a Google search for images so you can see: RESULTS) but there's really no telling what else is in her to make her such a special girl. She is SOOOOO smart and her new parent(s) should definitely take her to basic obedience classes in order to keep her mind stimulated. Are you that special person for this very special girl??JUL 11: Now that I've had Willow with me for a while I can tell you this girl is a true gem! She gets along with every dog in this house - chihuahuas, puggles, boxers, pitties. She has a very appropriate and happy play style and is really good at reading other dogs' body language so she knows when they don't want to play and she leaves them alone. She LOVES giving kisses and cuddling and she's learning the value of a belly rub. She knows "sit" and she knows to sit and wait for her food rather than to jump instantly into the bowl. She's also very polite about sitting while her meals are being prepared! She's ALMOST housetrained - 99% of the time she's great. All she needs is a little more time, a regular schedule of potty times, and positive reinforcement when she goes outside. She's almost there!Willow is a very curious girl so will need a home who will keep her active, entertained, and stimulated. Her favorite toys are rope tug/chew toys and she's learning to fetch as well. Willow is waiting for her forever family to find her - is that you??JUN 26: Willow is from the Pasadena Humane Society. Another very well behaved dog who gets along with everyone and everything, this beautiful angel simply ran out of time. She's young - maybe right around a year - so she has a lot of energy and wants to be with her people every minute of the day. But she's a lovebug, so having her around makes any day better!Willow's name was originally Gypsy, but I thought that name implied that she was a wanderer. Willow needs to be planted somewhere so she can develop some roots and grow into the beautiful, healthy, majestic girl she's meant to be. All she needs in a whole lotta love. These are her shelter pictures...more will follow as soon as we get her in for her photo shoot!
