12/3/2014: Willis is a fun and friendly Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix. He’s very smart and he’s active and focused — he’d be an excellent candidate for agility classes or frisbee. He’ll jump in the air to catch treats. Unfortunately Willis also uses his agility skills to climb tall fences, so he’ll need to be carefully supervised if in a fenced area. He has had some obedience training and knows "sit" and "down".

Willis is also very sweet and even though he has quite a bit of energy he also calms down nicely and is an affectionate lap dog. He is house trained and he gets along well with other dogs. He does need a home without cats. He loves to go for walks. He also needs a home without small children because he can be possessive with his food.

Willis is 4 years old and he weighs 19 lbs. He’s a cute dog with a black and white coat. He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He tested positive for heartworms but has finished his heartworm treatment and ready for his new home. Willis is a fun dog and he would be a great match for someone looking for a smart, loving and active little companion.

All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!

> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.

> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our dogs, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the dog home with you that same day.
