We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. This dog will require a fully physically fenced yard. Fencing must be in place at time of home visit.

Meet Willie! Coming all the way to us from South Carolina, Willie is an adorable 6 month old black lab mix that weighs just about 55lbs.

This guy doesn’t have a mean bone in his body! Willie is a very sweet, floppy, and silly boy with a wonderful temperament. He loves meeting new people and absolutely loves other dogs. He hasn’t met any children yet, but with his easygoing nature we’re sure he would love them. He hasn’t met cats yet either, but again we thing he would likely be fine.

Willie is smart little fellow and is already completely housebroken and crate trained. He listens well, and is picking up basic obedience skills quickly. He already knows several commands (to varying degrees) including sit, down, stay, heel, wait, let’s go, and no. Though he is very gentle about it, he is quickly learning that it’s not polite to use his teeth when he gets excited.

When his foster leaves the house, he shows Willie a treat, tosses it in the crate, and Willie goes right in. At night he sleeps quietly and soundly on a dog bed next to his foster’s bed.

Willie is affectionate and likes to have his ears scratched and his belly rubbed and he would like to find someone who likes to scratch ears and rub bellies. He loves going for walks and splashing around in a nearby creek. He adores the other dog in his foster’s home, and is always trying to engage her in play. We think he would absolutely love a forever home with another dog to play with. Although as long as he gets exercise and attention, we think he wouldn't mind being a spoiled only-dog too.

All our dogs have been treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
