This dog is being fostered with New Hope Dog Rescue (Saskatoon). If you are interested in adopting please fill out an Adoption Application. Meet and greets are by appointment only and done so after an adoption application has been submitted. A successful applications will be contacted by the foster home to discuss further. We are volunteer run so please be patient.

Attention all Husky lovers! Look up the definition of Siberian Husky and Willie is it! Super handsome Willie came to New Hope in August after suffering a serious fracture of his right femur. Willie had surgery, has completed his long recovery, has been a terrific patient, and is now on his journey to find his forever home. First and foremost, Willie loves everyone; he’s no guard dog.

He would do well with a big family although needs to learn that not everyone wants to be licked, pawed and hugged! He might be a bit much for small children, but he is learning manners and is smart. He is playful with yet respectful of his very small foster sister and she’s a grumpy little dog. Our small dog is a bit boring for Willie so we’re sure that he’d love a dog buddy more his own size, but would need a controlled meet and greet. It’s difficult with Covid to give him extra experiences! Willie is most likely not good with cats .

While Willie has his moments, he’s actually a pretty laid back guy who’s content with two half hour daily walks and some jumping around the yard (especially after the snow came). He is not super hyper but loves his walks and yard playing. A big fenced yard or acreage would be heaven for him. If you allow it after some activity, he’s happy to be your couch companion or to just lie on your feet.

Willie loves eye, ear and face rubs, and hugs most of all. Because of his injury and the need to restrict his activity, Willie has also become a world champion puzzle ball player and snuffle matt whiz. Also because of his injury, he’s probably not a companion for a daily 10KM run or agility training (which is OK because he’s kinda clumsy!)

If you know Huskies, he doesn’t bark and is generally quiet, but has all sorts of vocalizations when food is coming out or when we’re out walking that are pretty funny! Overall, super handsome Willie is just a wonderful dog.

Willie has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, current on age appropriate vaccines and has received a health check from a vet. adoption fee is $295
