William American Staffordshire Terrier & Labrador Retriever Mix Bethel, CT

William is a lovable and sweet 2-year-old, 63 lb. Staffy/Lab mix with the most soulful eyes and soft black coat. He was rescued and fostered 1.5 years ago but sadly the adopters are now looking to rehome him so he's in need of a new family.

This guy is a complete sweetheart who loves his people and wants to be with them all of the time. While William is fine to spend time on his own, he loves to be pet, scratched, played with, and hugged. He loves a good squeaky toy (and manages to get the squeaker out of every single one) and will provide you with hours of entertainment. He'll even go pick a toy out of his bin and then take it to his bed to play.

William has completed extensive training programs and will be happy to demonstrate what a good boy he is! He is house/crate trained, knows “sit, stay, lay down, wait, shake,” and will even wait at doors until you tell him to go. He walks beautifully on a leash, but does pull at times when he’s excited. William is food motivated and is quick to figure out games, as well as find treats within puzzles.

He can get anxious in new surroundings and is not too fond of the vet. He does bark when new people come to the house, but he is working on that. He is fine with 90% of dogs that he meets, but he sometimes reacts to unfamiliar ones. Due to this, he'd do best as an only pet. His ideal home would be experienced dog lovers who know how to work with pups and have an outdoor, fenced space for him to enjoy.

William's adoption fee is $350 and he is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. He has also been kept UTD on monthly prevention. He will remain with his current family until adoption. All meet & greets will take place at their home in Carmel, NY.
