Willa's Story
Meet Willa. A once feral lady abandoned with 27 other dogs. Willa was rescued with 3 others back in October of 2021.

It's believed she is about 5 years old. Willa can be affectionate with her chosen one. She is a follower. A dog's dog. Absolutely happy to be part of any pack willing to accept her. She is very food-motivated, quiet, reserved, and in her own dog world. Loves noisy soft toys. Excellent with cats and small critters from birds to rabbits, even turtles. Very respectful of all lives. She is contemptuous and humbly grateful to have a warm place, food, and other dogs.

Willa walks perfectly on a leash, but I could never trust her to be off-leash. Her fearful skittish nature creeps up. Moments that last seconds suddenly. Mainly to avoid anything she perceives as unsureness, untrusting, fear, or unfamiliar. No reaction just reserved and observant from a distance. Willa will always gravitate to dogs. She is quite easy, not destructive, and easily pleased. She is grateful to exist, learns to adapt, and enjoys everyday life, which she does not take for granted. She is the easiest most perfect dog.

She is my humbled, appreciative foster child who accepts everything regardless and is gracefully joyful and grateful. I can tell she tries hard not to be noticed or draw attention. She is a good girl. She's contemptuous and does not want to lose the stability and goodness she's grown to sincerely appreciate and love since being rescued.

Willa is house and crate-trained. She walks well on a leash, and we are actively working on basic obedience training. Willa does have a birth defect/missing an eye.

**All Adoptions Include:**
- Spayed/Neutered
- Rabies Vaccination (1 or 3 years)
- All Age-Appropriate Core Vaccinations (including Lepto & Corona, 1 or 3 years)
- Heartworm-tested (Negative)
- Monthly Heartworm, Flea, and Tick Prevention
- Lyme Disease Tested (Negative)
- Dewormed and faecal tested (Negative)
- All testing completed within 6-12 months
- All age-appropriate care (blood work, dental care, testing, and medications)
- Lifetime Microchip Registration with free unlimited updates
- Quality protein diet

**Adoption Processing:**
- The adoption application review can take up to 3 weeks.
- A minimum of two meet-and-greets are required before adoption.
- A home check must occur.
- Out-of-state adopters are welcome at their expense.
- We do NOT ship any adoptable pets.
- Adoption fees are due at the time of adoption.
- No exchanges or requests for money are required before adoption.
- No payment plans available.

**For AHRS Former Adopters:**
- No adoption fee is required; a donation of your choice is expected, encouraged, welcome, and appreciated.

Training is an ongoing process and must be addressed daily.
