Whinney Poo Shar-Pei Fort Wayne, IN

Hello, I'm Whinney Poo, a 4-year-old, 50-pound, golden and white Shar-Pei mix with a gentle soul and a heart full of potential. Life has been a bit scary for me, so I tend to be shy and reserved, especially indoors. You'll often find me hiding behind the couch, where I feel safe and secure. But don't let that fool you—I'm very sweet and have so much love to give. I am also learning to come out and be more social.

I feel most comfortable in the backyard, where I can run around with the other dogs and come to you at my own pace. It's in these moments that my true personality shines through. I will run with you too if you’d like. We can race! I love food-stuffed dog toys, of course. I get nervous in the car but am getting better at it. I’m also hesitant to take a bath, but once you start massaging me with the shampoo bubbles, I’m all in and won’t want you to stop. Ooh-la-la! After a bath my fur feels soft like a teddy bear and I look so pretty.

I would do best in an adult-only home or a home with older children who can understand my need for space and help me slowly build my confidence. A home with other nice dogs would be great because they give me the confidence to be more comfortable around people. I have not been cat-tested but can be if you’d like.

I'm currently being fostered in Franklin, TN, but I can be transported to a forever home out of state if it's the right fit. Please note, there is a transport fee.
