Meet Wanderlust
Wanderlust. She is hard to put into words and I don't normally have that problem. Ironically, her name is not really her game. She actually is a homebody. Wander gets set in her ways and it is difficult to change her thinking. Luckily, she is food motivated and pack oriented. She is a tough girl from literally living on her own out on the streets. When she loves you, it is serious. Everything she does is weird. Mornings are the best. She wakes up in such a great mood every day and it changes the way you see things for sure. There is only one Wander is the world and my hope is someone else will see this amazing soul and give her the same chance we gave her.
"to wander is to go about from place to place without a plan or purpose"
She has a plan and a purpose.
"Not all who wander are lost"
Back in September this stray dog was roaming Highland Indiana. Then, roaming Hessville in November. She finally settled down in a quiet neighborhood of Hammond where she stayed for 4 weeks. All the neighbors fed her and watched for her as she aimlessly roamed the streets, just surviving. Animal Control finally got her to safety where she was warm, fed, and getting petted daily.
Lets keep this part short..... young boy walks in to animal control and insists on "that one". Suddenly this wandering homeless canine has a collar on, endless conversations to listen to, and a christmas tree to wake up to in the mornings. She is here with us, at 2x2 Rescue, learning to be a functioning family member. 2021 will be her best year yet. . . . we promised that to her. She now plays, loves other pets, and is learning leash manners. Wander will take a little longer to settle in to a new home than a "normal dog" would but she is beyond worth it!
