Meet Wanda
Wanda (8YO) is one of six dogs that came to us from North Dakota in 2019. Previous to rescue, she was kept outside with minimal shelter. She is very sweet - she enjoys attention and getting treats! Her favorites include dried beef lung and pumpkin biscuits! She also enjoys cuddling stuffed animals and curling up in her fluffy blankets.
The Perfect Home for Wanda...
Priority placement for Wanda will go to a family having no children, or having children aged 10+. These children should be big-dog savvy. They should also have a secure, physical barrier fence, at least four feet tall. While Wanda has done well with house-training, she does not give any signals or cues for this need and her adoptive family should be prepared to take her out on a schedule as one would a puppy (she lived entirely outdoors for the first seven years of her life). She is reliably crate trained, and does not have accidents in one (she also does not have accidents when kept in a 5x5 carpeted kennel). Wanda has done well with other dogs in her foster home, but is not interested in playtime. Wanda is interested in cats, but is not currently inclined to chase them.
Preference will be given to families who have carpeted floors (or LOTS of rugs) and few stairs. Additionally, while we accept applications from all over the country, we will be putting the most focus on applicants within 2 hours of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area (Wanda will be requiring an in-person home visit).
Adoption fees vary depending on the dog, but range from $200-$600.
