Walton – Staffordshire Terrier mix – 6yrs – male (48lbs)

Meet our special boy, Walton. This poor guy has been through a lot lately. Walton was owned by someone who loved him very much, but was struggling with some of his own issues. Sadly, a family member found Walton’s owner dead after no one had heard from him for eight days. Poor Walton was in that house with his deceased owner for all of that time. None of the family members were willing to give Walton a home so they took him to the local county shelter. It must have been a sad and scary time for this boy. He had always been by his owner’s side and now he was in a cement kennel that was overcrowded and very loud. When we heard his story, we knew we couldn’t leave him there. Now, Walton is at our rescue and he’s settling in nicely.

We’re happy to share that Walton seems quite happy to be with us now and is the quirkiest, silliest guy around. Just look at that face! We know that he lived as an only dog so we’re slowly introducing him to others at our shelter. He has a few buddies he can go out with, but so far he hasn’t been playful with other dogs…he’s much more interested in the attention of people. Walton loves everyone he meets! Besides his hilarious facial expressions, he also makes us laugh whenever he drinks water. It’s a full body experience for Walton! ? He does the sillest zoomies around the play yard and thinks feet are the best place to sit. He’s very sweet and loving.

We know Walton lived in a home, so we believe he might be housebroken. We also know that his previous owner never walked him so his leash manners need a little work. We are doing everything we can to help him forget the sad times in his recent past and to find him a forever home where he is surrounded by love. Would you like to help Walton reach that goal?
