Hi ya. I'm Walter. I'm a senior gentleman and have been told that the first thing to go is memory. For me, though, it was my eyes. I'm not blind but I am becoming more sight impaired and as I get older. All that being said, I'm still a pretty amazing dude. I'm a total sweet heart. I love affection... once I know you're there. I don't really appreciate being startled, to be honest, but I love to love. I don't bark for the sake of it but I will use my words to let you know when I need something. Because of my eye sight, I wasn't a big fan of stairs at first or but I'm learning. I still prefer to be low to the ground... where I can smell everything! My favorite activities are walks (I like to think of them as smelly adventures), playing with toys, and looking out windows on bright sunny days. I really love to play tug. Sometimes I work up a sweat playing and need to be bathed. I don't love it but I'm a gentleman, so I understand it's a fact of life and I will tolerate it. As long as you do it at home - car rides are scary for me. Maybe one day, I'll love to go in the car but today is not that day. I am dog tolerant, but prefer to be with more mellow energy. I will correct a young whipper-snapper that is too energetic and I really prefer not to have to do that. My ideal retirement home would be with someone who doesn't mind taking leisurely walks, will let me laze in the sun, and will play tug with me when I get my spurts of energy. Behaviour: Crate tolerant / trained, walks well on leash but likes to sniff a lot, plays well with toys, affectionate, calm, tolerant of grooming, afraid of car rides.

Likes: toys, especially tug. Enjoys slow walks where he can explore with his nose. Likes to give and receive affection.

Medical: sight impaired - can see shadows/light. No other known medical at this time.

Ideal home: Quiet family life, preferably with retired or stay at home humans, with daily walking adventures.
