Meet Wally

Wally is a sweet boy who is glad to be back in a house again. His family moved into a house that was too small for all their pups so had to be kenneled, safely, outside. They knew he deserves more so surrendered him for rehoming.

With a guesstimated birthdate in April 2014, Wally weighs about 50 lb. It didn't take him long to remember his house-manners. He will cruise the counters so his new family will need to make sure all unauthorized food is out of reach.

Wally is crate-trained, leash-trained, and house-trained when kept on a regular schedule. He enjoys a good play session with a run in the yard before breakfast. His play style is more parallel and running. He doesn't like wrestling or confrontations.

Wally is good with polite dogs. He ignores the cats, but may be willing to chase them in a less structured home. He likes to be brushed and will stand patiently in the tub for a bath (his foster secures him to the handhold so he doesn't jump out). He enjoys chew toys and might like other types (not offered in his foster home to limit arguments.

Wally is very afraid of loud noises. He can hear a thunderstorm coming before his foster family. He doesn't overreact if he's able to be in the house. He will hide in a corner, though,

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we usually have to make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

If adopted into a home with other animals, particularly cats, your new pet should be crated or secured when you're not available to supervise to insure a harmonious relationship.

A vet reference is required to confirm responsible pet ownership. We suggest first time pet owners look for an adult dog for companionship and to gain experience.

Adoption fee covers two vaccinations plus spay / neuter if using our local low-cost spay/neuter clinic (overnight stay required) and surgery occurs as agreed upon in the adoption contract. Convenience fee equal to refundable spay/neuter deposit may be added if using our veterinarian. Additional fees for 3rd puppy vaccination, refundable spay/neuter deposit, etc. may apply.

We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. We receive no funding from agencies. Available animals can be seen most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We recommend interested parties contact us to pre-qualify for adoption so their new furry family can go home once paperwork is complete. Fees are required in cash. For more information on our organization, our website is www.petpartnersrescue.org.
