Viktor's Story

Viktor is eligible for our foster to adopt program!

Viktor is a one-year-old, 22.5 pound male chihuahua & rat terrier mix from Texas! Viktor is sweet, playful, and smart. He is adjusting well to the city's loud noises and people. Viktor enjoys playing with his plushy toys (either by himself or with a parent), sniffing flowers and plants during walks, and keeping people company around the house. He is doing well understanding sit, lie down, and stay, and is working on other obedience training. During his time with his foster family, he seems to be housetrained although has a few rare accidents as he transitions away from using his Texas doggy door. He is building his leash-walking skills, as he does a great job not picking up food and trash, but often wants to approach other people and dogs. His forever family needs to continue working with Viktor to reinforce and advance the progress he is making at calming down after playtime and settling to rest. He is quickly progressing with crate training, as he lessens his anxiety and grows his confidence with napping there. Viktor loves to be praised by his foster family and can often be found with his favorite elephant toy. Viktor is looking for an active family, although he appreciates a good nap and can easily sleep through the night. He would do well as a solo dog or with another dog at home, and we would recommend Viktor go to a home without young children.

Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Heartworm negative and microchipped. Needs neuter. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due 8/20.

To apply for Viktor, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.

Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org
