Velma's Story
Hi, my name is Velma!

Who needs a cute pit-husky mix? Because that’s exactly what I am! I came to the shelter as a stray, though someone had recently shaved me — so I thought I had a home once. My hair is growing back nice and soft now, and I’m looking forward to the day I can show off my full fluffy self again!

I’m potty trained, though sometimes if I don’t get out often enough, I’ll use one corner of my kennel — but I never walk back through it. At first, I was a little unsure about new people and all the dogs here, but once I learned the routine and got used to all the sounds, I started to come out of my shell.

Now I have lots of playmates and love running and playing in the yard with them. I’ve learned that dogs are friends, not scary! And if you really want to win me over — bring treats. I have a slight addiction to soft ones, especially the poultry flavors… duck is my favorite!

If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, and playful friend with a little bit of husky flair and pittie charm, I’m your girl.
