Meet VELMA ~ ADOPTED
Velma is a tiny brindle greyhound weighing about 50 pounds. She was found as a stray in early October and taken to a local SPCA. From there, Velma made her way to Monica's Heart where she quickly made herself at home among the other dogs in her foster home. Velma has no ear tattoos so we really don't know anything about her background. It is obvious she had previously lived in a house and had at least one litter of puppies. Our vet feels she is about four years old. Although she had no symptoms, she tested positive for Lymes disease and is finishing up a one month round of Doxycycline for treatment. Velma was spayed and had her teeth cleaned on Nov 9th. She will soon be ready for a home. She is well behaved in the house, and also sleeps well in a crate overnight. She gets along just fine with other dogs but is not cat compatible.
