Meet Velcro
On the surface, 6-year-old Velcro was just another stray black pitbull on the streets of Dallas, riddled with heart worms, until animal control rounded her up. Based on her physical condition, she appears to have had multiple litters of puppies.
Entering the shelter was perhaps the best thing to happen to Velcro. She received heartworm treatment and essential medical care, and getting spayed means that her over-bred body will never have to endure giving birth again.
Now in foster care, Velcro has shown herself to be the perfect family dog. She has so much love for people and dogs, is good with kids, and is happy just to be around her family. She has an even temperament and shows her submissive side when playing with other dogs. At just 40 lbs, she is convinced that she can fit into anyone's lap.
