Vegas Mixed Breed Plainfield, IL

Sweet baby Vegas! Vegas joined the SAYv Family from Texas on a transport with one of our partners. She is about 45 lbs and roughly 3 years old. Vegas was brought in by an animal control officer in Texas after she was seized as a cruelty case. She was found chained in the backyard with another dog that was unfortunately deceased at the time of being rescued. After having spent a few months with her potential adopter she was returned to us at no fault of hers, she just needed a different lifestyle. Despite her rough start to life, Vegas is the sweetest, most loving companion anyone could have asked for.

Vegas has done really well when meeting other dogs and people, she might be a bit reserved at first but truly does love being around people and other dogs. She has not been tested with cats. She enjoys cuddling up on the couch, bed, or anywhere she can rest her adorable ears and body. As we get to know Vegas we've noticed that she's on the moderate to low active side. She enjoys playing fetch and running around with her foster siblings when outside but when inside she loves nothing more than to take a nap on her dog bed or couch, if allowed. She also loves following you around the house and exploring new areas of her home. Vegas has not had any accidents within her foster home, she goes outside regularly without any issue.

Prior to Vegas joining her current foster home she had been in a home where she was left alone for extended periods of time throughout the week causing her to develop a low degree of separation anxiety. With the help of her foster family she's been flourishing and learning that being alone is completely okay. Vegas also had no prior crate training experience but with the help of her foster family and foster siblings she's been learning to LOVE her crate and now spend multiple hours in it while her foster mom and dad work from home. She can spend up to a couple of hours alone in her crate without any issues. She sleeps all throughout the night in her crate without any issues or hesitations.

We think Vegas would do wonderful in a home with someone who is constantly home and can give her the routine and love she deserves. We believe she would do best in a home with a fenced yard and with potentially other resident dogs as she really looks to them to feel safe and calm.
