Meet Vega

Born in March 2018, Vega is a puppy mill survivor mom. She is the sweetest girl and loves people. She is in a foster home and doing great with crate training and learning what home life is all about. She has a foster Malamute brother, but we think she would be happiest as the only dog where she can be spoiled and receive all the attention to herself like she so deserves. She is a big girl and doesn't know her size, so we are saying older children please and no small pets of any kind.

If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog, please complete an application:  https://form.jotform.com/60794585351161

Learn about the adoption/foster process: https://www.chaamp.org/adoption-process

Your application tells us about your lifestyle and helps us find a potential match for you and your family. We are happy to work with you. For example, if you don't have a fence, we can help find alternatives and/or a dog that will do well without a fence.

A home visit is required prior to adoption/fostering. You can visit the malamute(s) once you've completed the process. Alternatively, you may volunteer and learn how rewards-based training brings out the best in malamutes.

CHAAMP accepts applications from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC.

ADOPTION FEES
~Adult dogs (two to seven years old):  $275.00
~Older dogs (eight years old or over):  $100.00
~Puppies (6 months - 1 year):   $350.00

All Malamutes are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up-to-date on vaccines. Puppy fees are higher due to more vet visits and vaccines. The adoption fee helps us cover these costs.

CHAAMP is comprised of volunteers covering a 7-state region. We are not a shelter.

CHAAMP is a Rescue Affiliate Member of the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League (AMAL). For a list of AMAL rescues in the USA and Canada: https://www.malamuterescue.org/

CHAAMP is also a proud rescue member of the Pet Professional Guild. We say no thank you to Shock, Prong, Choke, Pain, Force & Fear. We understand safety is important to prevent being pulled by malamutes who were born to pull. We are happy to share options and other equipment to help you both be safe.
