Meet Valentine

Hi, my name is Valentine! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Smart, silly, active, affectionate

-Can Live with Kids: Unknown history-- recommending older, respectful, dog-savvy kids aged 12+ at this time.

-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history. A confident, dog-savvy cat who can stand their ground might be okay after slow, supervised intro.

-Can Live with Dogs: We are still evaluating Valentine to see how she does with other dogs here at the shelter. Ask staff if you'd like to know more!

-Can do Apartment Living: Not recommended due to energy level/activity needs. Could be doable with PLENTY of exercise and mental stimulation, although a home with a yard is much preferred!

-Potty Trained: Appears to be!

-Bite History: No

-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: No

-Energy Level: High

-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Spay/microchip

-Additional Information: Valentine is an energetic young herding breed mix who came to WHS as a stray. Not much is known about her history but she appears to be a friendly, social dog who would likely do well in most active households. Valentine would benefit from continued training and confidence building to help her become the best dog she can be!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
